The word "Zambo" serves as a beloved nickname for Zamboanga City in the Philippines, adding a unique touch to the city's identity. Zamboanga is the only city in the world with its name, giving it a truly distinctive character. For locals, saying, “I’m going back to Zambo” rolls off the tongue easier than saying "Zamboanga," and the nickname has become a term of endearment.

This pride in "Zambo" is celebrated in various ways, like the FHM Garden’s iconic "Zambo Mambo" cocktail, a special drink that captures the city's spirit and charm. While the word "Zambo" also has historical roots in African languages, for people in Zamboanga, it’s all about the place they call home.

In honor of this rich local identity, we chose "Zambo Mart" as our name, proudly representing Zamboanga and building a brand that shares the culture and flavors of our city. We’re also developing "Zambo" as a broader marketing brand to showcase our city’s unique heritage, from its diverse products to its distinct cultural spirit.
